Baxter Jack's is known as the PREMIERE sand volleyball complex in the country. Located in Louisville , Kentucky , Baxter Jack's is open from April through October. Baxter Jack's was founded in 1991 and has grown from one sand volleyball court into three illuminated sand volleyball courts with beautiful white silica sand.

The Baxter Jack's complex spans over a city block and is recognized throughout the region and country as the original “Volleybar”. The site has played host to several national volleyball events including the AVP Tour and the Bud 4-man Volleyball Tour. Each spring and fall, approximately 220 teams participate in the Baxter Jack's' sand volleyball leagues. Leagues ranging from Men's B+ to Co-Ed C- are offered to accommodate any skill level.

In addition to the league sessions, Baxter Jack's plays host to many volleyball tournaments. These tournaments continue to draw participants and spectators from around the region due to the competitive level of play and exciting atmosphere. The highlight of the volleyball tournament season occurs in late April with the Kentucky Derby Volleyball Classic. This event is scheduled in conjunction with “the most exciting 2 minutes in sports”, the Kentucky Derby. The tournament is designed to accommodate all skill levels and divisions are offered on all surface levels.

Following the completion of the tournament, a professional beach exhibition match is held at the Baxter Jack's complex on the Tuesday before the Kentucky Derby Race. This exciting event serves as the climax of the Kentucky Derby Volleyball Classic. The annual crowd for this event is so large that the streets are closed in order to accommodate the overflow crowd. Professional volleyball players who have competed in past exhibitions include Sinjin Smith, Randy Stoklos, Tim Hovland, Mike Dodd, Scott Ackytubby, Jon Stevenson, Ricci Luties, Brian Lewis, Al Janc, Canyon Semon, and many more. This exciting event continues to entertain fans year after year and receives a great deal of media coverage.
